Nezavisne novine: From September this year, the owners of vehicles in BiH will change their traffic licenses, and instead of them they will receive the ownership cards, confirmation on vehicle registration and a sticker on technical compatibility.
This has been confirmed yesterday in the Ministry of Transport and Communications of BiH and the Identification Documents, Data Exchange and Evidence (IDDEEA).
New registration plates are not obligated
At the contest, which has been levied by the IDDEEA, selected has been a company for procurement of registration plates. Siniša Macan has confirmed that after the approval of the Advocacy of BiH, the contract has been signed with this company as well. The entity ministers of internal affairs have supplied themselves with a sufficient number of registration plates until September, after which the contracted procurement will begin. Macan has explained earlier that if the owners do not want to procure the new registration plates, they are not obligated to do it. New plates will be obligated for those, who change the vehicle in accordance to the legal regulations, which are now valid. Price of registration plates has not been determined yet.
Siniša Macan, director of IDDEEA, has said that the contracts have been signed with the companies selected as the best providers, and that the adoption of the new rulebook is expected, in order to start the process of replacing the traffic licenses in BiH.
Mirko Šekara, Deputy Minister of Transport and Communications of BiH, has said yesterday that the new rulebook on registration of vehicles has been created, and it will be sent to the Council of Ministers of BiH for the adoption.
"The existing rulebook on registration of vehicles has been changed several times. It has been decided to make another one, in which all changes in the process of registration of vehicles will be encompassed. I cannot say how long it will last the procedure of adopting the new rulebook, but I believe that it will be finished until September, when the replacement of traffic licenses has been planned to start", Šekara has said.
It has been announced earlier from the IDDEEA that the vehicle owners do not have to change their documents right away, and that they do not expect the crowds because of innovations in this process. Owners of vehicles will change their documents once their registration expires, and then they will get the ownership card and confirmation on registration of vehicle, while their vehicles will have to have a sticker on technical verification.
"It has been confirmed by the rulebook that this sticker should be received right away after the technical verification and it will be placed on a visible place of vehicle. Therefore, stickers will be received at technical stations, where the technical compatibility of vehicle will be determined", Šekara has said.
He has reminded that the technical stations are connected into the system and equipped by computers and cameras, and that such data is available to all competent institutions.
