Dnevni list: Inspectors of the Tax Authority of the Federation do not have any kind of support from municipal and cantonal inspections, has been warned in the statement for Dnevni list by Midhat Arifović, director of the Tax Authority. “Inspectors of the Tax Authority uncover a larger number of objects which work illegally, which do not have a license for work, business registries. From the other side, the Tax Authority does not have a right to sanction people who do not have the right to work and that is generally in the accountability of municipal and cantonal inspections”, Arifović has said.
He asks himself why the governments in municipalities and cantons do not do anything more on sanctioning such cases, especially because all the taxes which get collected, belong to municipalities and cantons. “Huge damages because of their laziness are being suffered by the whole country. Only federal inspectors work in the afternoon hours and at night”, he has said.
“It is the time for the inspectors to initiate and start controlling the meat industry, trade, bakeries, doctor ordinations…We constantly listen to the same story about the money which disappears from budgets, but people work, and do not pay the taxes”, Arifović has pointed out. “Without repressive measures, closing down the objects, submitting notifications, we will never introduce the discipline”, has been concluded by director of the Federal Tax Authority.
