Dnevni list: The Supervisor for the Brčko District, Raffi Gregorian has instructed the cancelation of salaries to all the delegates in Brčko because of the inability of parliamentary delegates to elect the chairman and vice-chairman of the Assembly of the Brčko District, mayor and deputy mayor of Brčko.

Gregorian has also instructed the staff of the OHR and the Directorate for finances to start preparing the draft budget for 2009., which would fulfill the legal obligations and needs of the District.

“If there is a need, I will adopt the budget by the instruction”, has been said by supervisor. He also mentioned the officials of government authorities, who sign the contracts which are not in harmonization with their mandate.

Work of the Assembly is being under obstruction

Gregorian has said that the obstruction of work of the Assembly clearly shows that the delegates underestimate the institutions of the District. Supervisor did not want to mention the names of those responsible for obstruction of work.

Namely, there have been 120 days since the election in BiH, and 95 days last the active negotiations of the representatives of political parties in the Brčko District. Delegates of the Brčko District Assembly have not even at the newest effort of nominating the leading people of the executive and legislative government succeeded to start a discussion on candidates. The chairman of the Assembly, Avdo Aljić has after the proposal on cancelation of the Assembly from the Club of the Socio Democratic Party, concluded the continuation of session without voting, which has initiated polemics in the assembly.

Slap to democracy

Izet Banda, chairman of the Municipal organization of the Socio Democratic Party for the District, has said that the Socio Democratic Party, Party of Independent Socio Democrats, Party of Democratic Action, Croatian Democratic Coalition of BiH and delegates Vukašin Panić (SP), Stako Stakić (NDS) and Radoslav Bogićević (DSS) have asked for continuation of session, but he thinks that the Assembly is not ready for continuation of work. But, the representatives of other parties think that such way of work of the Assembly is a slap to democracy in the District. “We have been ready two months ago to elect the new leadership. We could have done it today as well”, has been said by Mladen Bosić, chairman of the Serbian Democratic Party. Ivan Krndelj, chairman of the Croatian Rural Party – NHI and delegate of the Croatian Democratic Party 1990./HSS-NHI/HSP, has said that it is not about any kind of endangering of people, unprincipled coalitions or anything else, but it is all about the thrones and force of individuals.
