Dnevni avaz: Even though it has been planned that a replacement of the registration plates in BiH start at the end of this year, the term has been moved, so the new plates will not be seen on vehicles before March 2009.
This has been said for “Dnevni avaz“by Dario Bušić, chief of the Department for road and railroad transport at the Ministry of Communications and Traffic of BiH.

By the new concept the tradition that the vehicle by each new registration receives new plates, will be changed.
– New plates with a blue field on which it says BiH, once they have been assigned, will follow the vehicle as long as it exists. When it is the time to change the ownership, a new owner will not be exposed to expenditures of issuing of new plates – says Bušić.
– When speaking of the establishment of the system for confirmations of the ownership and registration, that part of a job has been finished. As far as I know, it slowed down something related to plates. Even though the information is not official yet, it has been planned to begin with a new concept of registration on 1st of March – says Bušić.
He explains how by the new system it has been predicted an on-line connecting of all websites of technical check with the authorities responsible for registration. This system in the Federation of BiH is in test phase, while the question is when it will start functioning on the territory of the whole country. This is also one of the pre-conditions for beginning of issuing the new plates.
Even though it has not been known how much the new marks will cost, it is being assumed that the price will not deviate from the current, and it will be around 55 KM.
– The Ministry will not have an impact on price. I assume that the Council of Ministers will decide on this. There will be no massive distribution of the new plates and harassing the citizens, but the confirmation of the ownership, which will replace the current vehicle registrations, will be received when it is time for registration of the vehicle.
In order to avoid the expenditures, the confirmation would not have to be changed as long as all the six stamps on existing driver’s license are being received – our interlocutor says.
