Dnevni avaz: Some employers in the Brčko District do not care much for the regulation of the Law on Labor according to which the absence of parturient women lasts one year, so they demand that those women come back to their work as soon as possible.
Ilija Kalajdžić, president of the Brčko Union, says for “Avaz” that they have been receiving complaints from the female workers on their employers, but neither of those women wanted to undertake anything because of the fear that they will be let without job. Neither of parturient women to whom we tried to speak about this problem was available to us.
This year we had a case when one coalition approached us with the similar problem and inspection has in the frame of its competence finished that case, meaning that the notification on violation was submitted to the Central Court.
“I would use this chance to appeal on all parturient women who have such problems, to contact us”, has been said for our paper by Senada Garić, the chief of the Inspectorate of the Government of the District, who added that the penalties for such violations for the companies are 1.000 KM, and for the employers from 200 to 500 KM.
