Nezavisne novine: SARAJEVO – In the first half of this year the members of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH have not even spent full three days per month at the sessions, while in the Council of Ministries as much as 85% of laws planned for this year have not been deliberated.

These are the results of investigation of the non governmental organization Centers of Civil Initiatives (CCI) on the work of the Council of Ministries and the Parliament of BiH for the first six months of 2008.

“Salaries of our representatives have become the highest in region, while according to results of its work, our State Parliament and the Government are on their bottom”, has been said by Majda Behrem-Stojanov, spokesperson of the CCI.

According to this investigation, the Parliamentarian Assembly of BiH has for a half of year adopted 30 laws, which is 22% of the plan for 2008.

“Croatian Council, for example, on the plenary conferences has spent twice more of time than our Parliament in both its Houses, and it adopted three and a half times more laws in comparison to the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH”, says Ivica Čavar from the CCI.

The Council of Ministries has for a half of year realized 21% of the total planned work. From 102 laws which are by the program of the Council of Ministries of BiH planned for adoption in 2008, only 15 of them have been confirmed.

“This convocation of the Council of Ministries by all parameters is worse from the previous one. Even four ministers in a half of year have not realized any of a very small number of planned laws. Those ministers are Sven Alkalaj, Selmo Cikotić, Božo Ljubić and Slobodan Puhalac, who has left the Council of Ministries”, Denis Telić from this organization has said.
