Dnevni avaz: MPs and delegates in the Parliament of BiH, 57 of them, cost the state 700 thousand marks per year. These are data on expenditures for the last year, but this amount could be increased this year significantly.

Numerous benefits

Quotient for parliamentarians’ salaries is currently 8.4, and it is multiplied by the basis of salary which amounts 240 KM. For chairpersons of commission and caucuses, quotient is 8.5, and for the chairpersons of Houses and their deputies Milorad Živković, Niko  Lozančić and Beiz Belkić from House of Representatives and Sulejman Tihić, Mladen Ivanić and Ilija Filipovića from the House of Peoples, the quotient is 8.7.

The MPs’ salary is increased by 0.5 per cent for every year of work experience, and maximum addition on this basis is one fifth of income.

Every MP has addition for MP duty of 840 KM. Also, there is a right on hot meal provision of ten marks per work day, i.e. 220 KM per month. But, to some MP these are not the only incomes.

Professional MPs of the Parliament of BiH have a board and lodging provision of up to 500 KM, additionally 400 KM for not living with their family, as well as the right on reimbursement of transportation expenses to the place of residence of their family, four times per month – they said in the Sector for General Affairs of the Parliament of BiH.

Those who do not use these benefits, for arrival to work place charge daily subsistence allowances and travel expenses for every arrival to the session of the Houses or commissions.

Transportation expenses

When all added, salaries of some MPs exceed 4.000 KM. Those who live permanently in Sarajevo, have provision for transportation amounting the price of monthly ticket.

One of the rare who made public information on his incomes is Beriz Belkić, who stated that he receives around 3.400 KM per month.

Scandalous provision

Although their incomes in relation to other citizens are extremely high, the parliamentarians do not think so, so they supported principles of the new law on salaries.

According to some estimates, their salaries would amount to 6.000 KM.
