Dnevni avaz: According to new Decree for Establishment of Bases of Salaries, Salary Grades and Quotients of Ranks for Police Officers in Hercegovačko-Neretvanski Canton, which was adopted by the Government at the session of March 28 and which will soon be in front of the MPs, salaries of police officers and non qualified workers, such as cleaning ladies, are almost equalized!
Salary of a help worker is 36 per cent higher and will amount to 492 KM, and a salary of a policeman is only 16 KM higher and will amount only 508 marks. Clerk in an administration, qualified worker, will receive 575 KM, and a senior policeman 529.
Senior clerk in an administration with high school, senior independent clerk with college and senior expert associate with university degree will have salaries of 609, 714 and 903 KM, while a police sergeant, senior sergeant and junior inspector, with same qualifications will receive 555, 576 and 660 marks.
Salary of head of internal organization unit in administration will increase by 46 per cent and will amount to 1261 KM, although they are supervisors of only few people. On the other hand, salary of chief inspector (head of police administrations), who is in command of up to 500 people, will amount to 1093 KM, of police inspector 794, senior inspector 899, and independent inspector 1004 marks.
President of the Police Union of the Ministry of Interior of the HNC Huso Mehremić, for the “Avaz” said that that limits the police officers and states that that makes them service of the administration. He does not exclude even protects.
"We ask ourselves how in these circumstances one can expect the police to do their job. How a police officer can jump into a crowd of hooligans running wild, when they have to think about their families" said Mehremić, who requested the Government of the HNC to annul a decree.
