Nezavisne novine: SARAJEVO – Transfers from the budget of the FBiH to the lower levels of authority this year should be divided in such way as to ensure quicker development of undeveloped areas and municipalities in the FBiH. This reads in the conclusions the Government of the FBiH adopted after the analysis of the last year’s incentive.

“Part of the assets will be divided as a fixed amount to the cantons which in 2007 through transfers received small amounts, and part will be distributed through projects”, reads in the analysis, in which it is stated that the Ministry of Finances of the FBiH in the following period is to prepare data on own revenues and the number of inhabitants of the municipalities, as well as other data used to evaluate development of certain areas.

“We will ask the Government to make analysis of the results of these transfers for the last four years, so we would be able, with the next budget, to adopt clear and precise criteria for provision of money to lower levels. This year we will have more “ironing” of the setbacks from the previous year, because now it seams that among cantons better are treated those who have more themselves”, says Safet Softić, chairman of the House of Representatives of the Parliament of the FBiH.

According to this analysis, last year the greatest amounts were receivedby cantons of Sarajevo, Tuzla, Hercegovačko-Neretvanski and Middle-Bosnia, and the smallest by Bosansko- Podrinjski, Livno, Posavski and West-Herzegovina.

At the same time, with transfers for veterans, pensioners and other social categories, the biggest assistance was given in the area of agriculture and return of the refugees and displaced persons, says the analysis.

Softić talked these days with the prime minister of the FBiH, Nedžad Branković and the chairman of the House of Peoples, Stjepan Krešić about the criteria announced during the adoption of the budget for this year.
