Nezavisne novine: SARAJEVO – Members of certain commissions with the Council of Ministers of BiH are still being paid remunerations, although last year decision has been adopted which abolished these privileges to save money in the budget of the institutions of BiH.

Members of the Commission for Revision of Decisions on Naturalisation of Foreign Citizens in BiH will receive monthly remuneration of 600 KM, and the Chairperson of the Commission will be paid 700 KM per month. Remuneration for the members of the Secretariat of this Commission is 400 KM per month. Decision stated that remunerations eill be paid from the Special Purpose Programme of the Ministry of Civil Affairs of BiH.

Šakota: We are introducing order

Šakota points out that Ministry of treasury of BiH receives every day requests for reappointment of different commissions, and that most of them do not fulfil the conditions for remuneration, because that is in a job description of the employees.

“It will no longer happen that same persons are sitting in two or more commissions, as it used to happen”, said Šakota and added that an order is gradually being introduced into this area after enactment of the decree by the Council of Ministers. How many different commissions there are, is also illustrated by a fact that within the Ministry of Security of BiH, there is a Work group for implementation of the Action Plan for prevention and combating criminal acts related with motor vehicles.

In the “Official Gazette of BiH” it is published that 12 members of the State Commission for Border will receive from 304 to 777,50 KM per month. For seven members of the work bodies of this Commission monthly remuneration will be paid amounting from 186 to 270,50 KM.

It has been decided that remuneration is also to be paid for work to the members of the Commission for Protection of Data amounting 600 KM per month, and the secretary of the Commission is to be paid 300 KM per month. Remunerations for certain members are as much as 120 per cent of the average net salary in BiH. Money for engagement in these Commissions is paid for period from July 1st until December 31st 2007.

Ranko Šakota, assistant of the Minister of Finances and Treasury of BiH, said that the deadline for payment until December 31st last year points that new decision of the Council of Ministers on establishment of commissions and other work bodies is respected.

“Those are permanent and not ad hoc commissions which were formed earlier. By the decree of the Council of Ministers, all the commissions must be agreed on by the Ministry of Finances and pass reappointment. Every commission and payment will be published in the “Official Gazette” and everything is transparent”, said Šakota.
