The Federal Ministry of Justice adopted a new Rulebook on the single administrative place in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. This act marks a clear commitment of the Ministry and the Government of FBiH to build a culture of service delivery in the public administration oriented towards the user.

A single administrative place is a physical or electronic location, i.e. a “point of contact” where one or more authorities can act in one place to exercise a party’s right. Such a “point of contact” implies the unification of administrative procedures related to the same life situation – event (eg the birth of a child) or which are resolved on the basis of the same evidence (eg the right to cash social assistance). However, it may include the provision of various services in one place such as: paying taxes and fees, submitting an application for incentives, obtaining extracts from official records, information on rights and services, and the like. The idea is to enable users to obtain different documents and conduct procedures in the same place, which makes the process more efficient and simpler.

The Rulebook, which was created through the cooperation of the working group of the Federal Ministry of Justice and USAID’s E-Government Project, defines the conditions and criteria that should guide competent authorities when establishing and operating a single administrative office.
