The Public Administration Reform Coordinator’s Office and SIGMA, in cooperation with the Ministry of Communications and Transport of Bosnia and Herzegovina, are organizing a two-day round table to determine options for simplifying the vehicle registration procedure in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The round table will be held on Wednesday and Thursday, March 13th and 14th 2024 in Sarajevo, at the Novotel Bristol hotel, Street Fra Filipa Lastrića 2.
The Strategic Framework for public administration reform in BiH 2018-2022 (2027) in the reform area Service delivery, among other things, includes measure 4.3: Harmonized improvement of the administrative and legal framework, and in agreement with the representatives of the EU Delegation in BiH and the European Commission, SIGMA from 2021, provides support to competent institutions in the implementation of certain activities that contribute to the fulfillment of this reform measure. In accordance with the mentioned above, SIGMA has in the past period made an analysis of the vehicle registration procedure in Bosnia and Herzegovina, with the aim of identifying ways to simplify this administrative procedure.
The round table aims to determine proposals that can serve as a basis for designing the future legal framework for the administrative procedure of vehicle registration, and the necessary actions to implement the proposed changes. SIGMA will present the initial results of an analysis of the current functioning of this procedure, along with some initial ideas for possible simplifications. In addition, experts from Croatia and Serbia will present their countries’ experiences in simplifying procedures. During the second round table session, it is planned that the participants in group work will determine and present proposals for simplifying the procedure and overcoming potential obstacles.
