On 15 December 2017, a theme workshop entitled “Competences in the civil service” was held in Sarajevo.
The workshop was organised within the project “Simplification and improvement of employment in the civil service” financed by the Public Administration Reform Fund, and implemented by the Zamm media Consulting d.o.o. Sarajevo.
The workshop presented the results of piloting of competency assessment methodology in the process of employment in the civil service, and there was a discussion on the significance and the possibility of application of competences in civil service development management.
The methodology was piloted in the institutions from four levels of administration: the Agency for Supervision over Market of BiH, the Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Policy, the Ministry of Finance of the RS and the Department for Expert and Administrative Affairs of the Government of the BD BIH.
Although in this regard there are different legal frameworks in force at certain administration levels, a commitment was demonstrated to continue the work at all the levels on introduction of competences in the system of human resources management in accordance with the trends in the EU member states.
In addition to the representatives of the pilot institutions, the participants of the workshop were also the representatives of the competent civil service / administration agencies, the Employment Board of the Brčko District of BiH, and the Public Administration Reform Coordinator’s Office.
