Nezavisne novine: The lowest salary in the Republic of Srpska from 2009 will instead of the previous 250 be 320 KM, has been agreed by the representatives of the Government, the Union and the employers of the RS.

Milorad Dodik, the Prime Minister of the RS, has after signing this agreement which ensures an increase of the lowest salaries, said that this means that people in economy understand the condition in which are the workers and want to improve their standard.

"We came up this price by our striving to continue the conversations about including of the food allowance and regress in the salary", Dodik has said, by adding that he expects to come to those solutions by the New Year or the latest until February, when a payment of the increased the lowest salary begins.

The Prime Minister Dodik has said that the Government will by a list of measures support the economy and the branches which have been burdened by the total events in the world and by a new increase of the lowest salary.

Dodik has graded that this increase is realistically possible, by adding that the Government has suggested the Law by which 300 KM of the salary would be exempted from tax.

"This will disburden the budget of the RS by about 15 million KM, but by this we want to show a readiness to help the economy and new trades", Dodik has said.

Ranka Mišić, chairman of the Association of Unions of the RS, has said that after several months of hard negotiations it has been succeeded to come to an agreement on the increase of the lowest salary, which is a good news in a time when we only receive bad news when speaking of workers.

"For the workers who receive the food allowance, 50% of the lowest salary is being added, and when all that is calculated, it is obvious that this is a step forward for those who do the simplest labors in economy", Mišić has said.

According to her, the main task of the union, employers and the Government in the next year, will be keeping the existing work positions.

Zdravko Ostojić, the chairman of the Union of Associations of Employers of the RS, has said that the employers have by a tough pain accepted the lowest salary because of the complicated conditions of economization because of the global crisis.

He has said that by the end of February, it should be agreed on one gross salary into which the food allowance and regresses will be included.

Milorad Dodik, the Prime Minister of the RS, has said that 2009 will be economically hard year, but that he expects that the RS will still continue its economic growth.

He has said that the eventual reductions of growth in some branches will be made up by a work of Refinery, by infrastructure labors and building of the hydroelectric power plants.

"This will all ensure that the RS at the end of 2009 has a positive growth", Dodik says, by adding that the Government will help the companies which have been executing their legal obligations. By reminding that in the first nine moths this year around 28.000 workers have been employed, he said that a number of employed will not reduce in 2009, but the new 20.000 will be employed.
