The EU has confirmed the European perspective of countries of Western Balkans and Turkey if they fulfill all necessary conditions, but a broad support of public is of a huge significance for sustainability of the enlargement process. Maintaining the momentum of reform processes and credibility of the enlargement policy in candidate and potential candidate countries of the South-East Europe represents a special challenge inside the Communication strategy of the EU enlargement.
Inside the IPA 2009 Information and Communication Program, the EC General Enlargement Directorate plans to support the series of projects directed to enabling and advancing the awareness on the EU and its policies, with a special focus on the issues related to the EU enlargement policy. The total indicative amount, which will be available inside this call for the project delivery, is 700 000 Euros.
The general goal of this call for delivering the projects is the contribution to a better awareness of citizens of countries – users of the IPA on policies of the EU and their importance for an ever-day life of citizens, as well as on the European perspective of the region.
Specific goals of the project delivery call are:
- Increase of the production and transmissions of qualitative TV programs on the EU policies in the countries – users of the IPA program.
- Stimulation of the informed public debate in countries – users of the IPA program on advantages and challenges of the process of accessing the EU.
- Improvement of the position of independent media and standards of the TV production in countries – users of the IPA program through the partnership and the exchange of programs and information.
Deadline for delivering the project proposals is January 19, 2010.
