Dnevni avaz: Revenues from the indirect taxes on the unified account of BiH fall for the first time since the establishment of the Indirect Tax Administration of BiH, has been said for "Dnevni avaz" by Kemal Čaušević, director of the ITA. In January, 403 million KM has been collected from the VAT, which is by six million less than in the same month last year.

– It has come to a drastic fall of revenues from customs in a sum of 30 million KM because of the application of the Stabilization and Association Agreement with the European Union. That is a key reason. At the same time, revenues from the internal VAT are in an increase by 24 million KM in relation to the same month last year – Čaušević has said.

Verification of illogicality

Čaušević says that there has been noticed an illogicality related to the fall of export and import, and an increase of the refund of VAT.

– That is a troublesome indicator. I have instructed some special controls of documentation in the custom branches and have sent the memos to ten countries to which we mostly export, in order to verify and balance the data – has been said by director of the ITA.

This data, according to him, is pointing to the caution and a fact that the state counter is being filled harder and harder. He also says that the ITA has been earlier warning on the possibility of fall of the revenues at the beginning of year, and that the data, by considering the economic crisis as well, is not encouraging.

– We will undertake the measures of sharpening the control of payment of VAT and we plan to double them as well, in order to have a better payment of revenues. The ITA is the first one to see the data and we have warned on a need of overtaking the adequate measures, as are lowering the threshold for registration of tax payers – Čaušević says.

He especially points out the urgency of adopting the new law on accises of BiH, because if that happens, "fall of revenues would not endanger the execution of planned budgets".
