On June 1, 2026 representatives of the Public Administration Reform Coordinator’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the German GIZ held a meeting in the premises of the Coordinator’s Office with the aim of establishing and strengthening cooperation in the field of public administration reform in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

As part of the GIZ program “Sustainable Economic Development and Promotion of Employment in Bosnia and Herzegovina” (SEDEP), the implementation of the project component called “EU for Digital Transformation in Bosnia and Herzegovina” (EU4DT) has begun. The project component is co-financed by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and by the European Union, and is implemented by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH.

The goal of the project component is to improve the institutional prerequisites for digital transformation, creating a stimulating environment for more efficient policies and instruments for e-government and e-services for citizens and entrepreneurs. GIZ is currently in the initial phase of implementation in which it investigates and adapts the planned project interventions, which mostly relate to the following fields of work: improvement of technological conditions for the interoperability of public institutions (state SDH network), capacity building for digital transformation on the part of public servants, improvement of the digital identification system (digital ID wallet) and provision of e-services, as well as capacity building of business service providers for the Horizon and Digital Europe programs.

Taking into account that the mentioned initiatives and activities support the reform goals, measures and activities defined by the PAR Strategic Framework in Bosnia and Herzegovina in the field of Service Delivery, potential cooperation in the area of digitalization of public administration in Bosnia and Herzegovina was discussed. Also, bearing in mind the productive cooperation of the Public Administration Reform Coordinator’s Office of BiH and GIZ, and within the framework of the GIZ Program for Strengthening Public Institutions of BiH, as well as the results that the program produced in the process of public administration reform, it was agreed that the cooperation will be continued within the framework of reform activities in the area of digitization, but also in general within the framework of supporting the process of public administration reform in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

On behalf of the Public Administration Reform Coordinator’s Office in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the meeting was attended by the Deputy Coordinator for Public Administration Reform of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Mrs. Amira Mašović, head of the Operational Unit, Mr. Nedžib Delić, Head of the Unit for Donor Coordination, Finance, Supervision and Evaluation, Mrs. Aneta Raić, expert Consultant for Information Technology and Service Delivey Mrs. Mubera Begić, and expert associate for Donor Coordination, Finance, Supervision and Evaluation Ubavka Gašević. On behalf of GIZ, the meeting was attended by the manager of the component “EU for Digital Transformation in Bosnia and Herzegovina” (EU4DT) within the GIZ program “Sustainable Economic Development and Promotion of Employment in Bosnia and Herzegovina” (SEDEP), Mr. Donald Prohaska and Mr. Bojan Vojvodić, advisor on the project “Sustainable Economic Development and Employment Promotion (SEDEP) in Bosnia and Herzegovina”.
