Improvement of public administration and public services through the introduction of quality management instruments in public administration institutions is perceived as one of the key prerequisites for the sustainability of public administration reform and better performance of public administration. The use of these instruments, i.e. models, tools and standards in modern public administration is an indicator of the governments’ commitment to improve the satisfaction of users, i.e. citizens.
Albania provides high priority for improving services to citizens and businesses, with a strong focus on digital services. In order to further support this reform, SIGMA (a joint program of the OECD and the EU) and ReSPA (Regional School for Public Administration) are hosting the international conference “Good governance is the basis for quality management in public administration”, which will be held on July 6th and July 7th in Tirana under the auspices of the Prime Minister of Albania.
The goals of this event are: to present the importance of quality management, to learn and to be inspired by practices in the region and in the EU, and to discuss future opportunities and the concrete way forward in spreading quality management to the Albanian public.
At this international event, as part of the panel, a representative of PARCO will participate, as well as colleagues from the BiH entities of the Federation of BiH and Republika Srpska, who will share their experiences on the introduction of quality management tools in public administration.
