Within the project “Strengthening of Capacities for Strategic Planning and Policy Development – phase II (SPPD II)”, which is being implemented by the funds of the Public Administration Reform Fund, whose general objective is strengthening of the process of strategic planning and public policy enactment in the public administration bodies at all the administration levels, in Banja Luka, on 19 and 20 April, there was a fourth module of training for the representatives of the ministries in the Government of the Republic of Srpska on strategic planning, dedicated to drafting action plans.
Through four modules held from the start of the year, the participants became familiar with the basic concepts of strategic planning (defining vision and mission, environment analysis (SWOT, PESTLE), definition of strategic objective, programme and activities), in order to be able to adequately implement the “Decision on the procedure of planning, monitoring and reporting on implementation of the adopted strategies and plans of the Government of the RS and the republic administration bodies” (Official Gazette of the RS, 50/16), whose application started in early 2017.
As a result of the implemented trainings, the ministries of the Government of the RS, with coordination of the Unit for Planning of the Secretariat of the Government of the RS, will draft the appropriate plans within the time frame stipulated by the Decision.
