The European Commission will in the next days approve the assistance to Bosnia and Herzegovina in the amount of 39 million Euros. The European Union has approved 100 million Euros for supporting the budget of Serbia and assistance of 85 million Euros to West Balkans and Turkey for overcoming the consequences of economic crisis, has been notified yesterday by the European Commission.
Assistance to the budget of Serbia, which is being allocated from funds of the Pre-Accession Assistance program (IPA), will be paid in two rates per 50 million Euros in the Fall 2009 and in the first half of 2010.
In order to do this payment, it is necessary for Serbia to stick up to the program of the International Monetary Fund and to fulfill the conditions confirmed by the European Commission and the Government of Serbia, which are related to the short-term reform of the system of managing public finances and integration in the EU.
Funds are the part of the packet of assistance intended for West Balkans for overcoming the crisis, which will reach the total of 150 million Euros in donations of the Commission and 600 million Euros in loans of international financial institutions, as are the European Investment Bank (EIB) and the European Bank for Renovation and Development (EBRD).
