Nezavisne novine: The Memorandum on understanding in implementing of pilot project "One computer – one child" in a frame of which the corporation "Intel" donates 30 laptops with a goal of introducing the information technologies into the modern education, has been signed yesterday in Banja Luka.
The Memorandum has been signed by Anton Kasipović, Minister of Education and Culture of the RS and John Davis, deputy chairman of the "Intel" corporation.
"From today, with many efforts done by the Ministry of Education and Culture of the RS, we begin creating a new philosophy, one new approach in schools of Srpska" Kasipović has said.
He has pointed out that a laptop, which seems like a toy, is actually a new way of children’s thinking.
"There will be reached an agreement on certain deadline until which the professors will have to be educated in informatics, because of themselves and because of their students, as well as to become a part of huge changes in the education system of the RS", Kasipović has said. He has also said that the details of pilot project will be elaborated with representatives of the "Intel" corporation and Pedagogical Institute of the RS.
"I believe we will have a great interest of children and they will acquire the knowledge in an easier way, than while working by classical methods, through books", has been said by Kasipović, who also added that realization of this project is expected already at the beginning of academic year.
Davis has said that the "Intel" has many programs in the area of education for professors, students (both in elementary and high schools). He has pointed out that a goal of this project is that each student in his/her classroom can have a laptop and added that in the frame of this project, "Intel" can also offer the training for professors, by emphasizing that a laptop can have available programs for mathematics, physics, chemistry and biology.
