Nezavisne novine: The European Union is worried because the governments of BiH do not respect the international agreements, has been said yesterday by Boris Iaročević, head of operations in the EC Delegation in BiH, by commenting the Law on Domestic Production Protection.
"We expect BiH to totally respect the international agreements, which it has signed. This law can be contra-productive for the country itself because the neighbors have announced the contra-measures, which is not good", has been said by Iaročević at yesterday’s press-conference dedicated to marking the May 9th, as the Europe Day.
By the Law on Domestic Production Protection, there have been introduced the customs on agricultural products from Serbia and Croatia. It has been adopted in its first reading and before it inures, it will be deliberated by the House of Peoples of the Parliament of BiH.
Iaročević has explained that marking of the Europe Day will start today by marathon in Sarajevo, and ceremony in Banja Luka.
The Europe Day is being celebrated on the date when there has been announced the declaration of Robert Shuman, Minister of Foreign Affairs of France, who has five years after the Second World War presented the proposal for creating of the European Community of Coal and Steel.
"Then, these were the main resources for arming production, with a wish to end the long-lasting conflicts between Germany and France forever. On this day, Europe celebrates its unification, freedom, peace, prosperity, and when will BiH become a part of the EU, mostly depends on politicians and citizens of BiH. I hope that this path of BiH will be much shorter than marathon", Iaročević has said.
Marathon "Trkom u Evropu" will be held today on Vilson’s walkway in Sarajevo. Around 400 and 500 contestants from the whole region will participate, among whom the best marathon-runners, who have participated on Olympic games as well. In Banja Luka, there will be a whole-day manifestation, whose main theme will be innovations and creativity, which is this year’s slogan of the EU.
"The Directorate for European Integrations in cooperation with non-governmental organizations tends to promote the process of the European integrations. On May 16, in Sarajevo, we will host 500 high-school students as well, who will be addressed by Martin Luther King Junior, and it will all be in a frame of the project “Odgovoran građanin” (Accountable citizen)", has been said by Nedeljko Masleša, deputy director of the DEI.
