Dnevni avaz: By imposing the new accises for cigarettes, coffee, alcohol and gas, governments of BiH will additionally collect at least 290 million KM per year.
As it has been explained by a chairman of the Council of Ministers of BiH, Nikola Špirić, 42% of tax will be paid on a retail trade price of cigarettes, with a special accise of 15 pfennings for each box. There has also been stipulated an increase of accises for the import of coffee in the amount of half KM per kilogram, so for a raw coffee it will be 1.5, and 3 KM for a roasted one.
The additional money, according to Špirić's expectations, will be used for developmental and social projects.
– This law will not solve all problems. But, it is on a line of protection of domestic production, especially tobacco industry – has been said by Špirić, by stating that however, there will be no drastic increases of prices of these products.
There is also being introduced an additional accise of ten pfennings for each liter of spent gas, out of which 120 million KM will be collected.
– This has been done in cooperation with the European Renovation and Development Bank, and it will serve for returning of the credits taken by now and getting the new ones for building of highways – has been explained by the state prime minister.
The Council of Ministers has also adopted the decision on using the excess of revenues in the Communications Regulatory Agency, which were 10.6 million KM. From that lot there will also be settled 697.000 KM of debt to the EUTEL. However, it is only about the expenditures from August 2007.
– We have asked the Management board to make the information, after which we will see how we will relate towards it – Špirić has said.
Branko Martić has been nominated yesterday for a new director of the Agency for doping – control. Also, work of the commission for purchase of the object for the Embassy of BiH in Brussels has been prolonged for 60 days and the Prime Minister Špirić expects that it will finish its work in that period.
