Dnevni avaz: Payment of pensions in the Federation of BiH will no longer start before the fifth in month, because we are facing the economic crisis, like everyone else in the world, has been warned in the statement for "Dnevni avaz" by Zarif Safić, spokesperson of the PDI Institute of the FBiH.
According to him, by now the pensions have been paid each 1st in month, and for January and February with two latencies because of the weekends.
– We have expected that the Government of the FBiH will for the first three months pay 36 million KM of debt, but nothing happened. Apparently, they would need to pay in 12 million KM from the funds of succession, while its total debt for benefited pensions for the last and this year is 225 million KM. For the last year they owe us 82 million KM, and 143 million for this one – Safić has said.
He also says that for payment of pensions there is 127 million KM needed per month, and it is questionable how to ensure that money.
– We are worried because we have spent all funds from reserves. The only good thing is the fact that the salaries in the FBiH cannot be paid before paying in the contributions for pension-disability insurance. When speaking of the height of pensions from March, it is too early to talk about it, because it is just a beginning of month – Safić has said.
Šefkija Elezović, chairman of the Union of pensioners of the FBiH and a member of the Management board of the Institute, says for "Dnevni avaz" that they are very worried because of the financial crisis in that institution.
– If there is no enough money for payment of regular pensions, the MB will demand a cancelation of payment of benefited pensions to the military insurers – Elezović has said.
