Nezavisne novine: The chairman of the Council of Ministers of BiH, Nikola Špirić has proposed forming the team of experts for the combat against corruption instead of the office for combat against corruption, whose establishment is one of the conditions for progress towards the EU and liberalization of visa regime.
"The chairman of the Council of Ministers of BiH has proposed the decision on forming the team of experts for combat against corruption. According to his proposal, a task of this team would, besides others, be to coordinate the work of the state and entity institutions in suppressing the corruption. In the contact with the representatives of the European Commission, he has suggested us to wait for the arrival of experts from Brussels with the goal of a joint evaluation and inserting the eventual suggestions", has been said by Aleksandar Obradović, adviser of the chairman of the Council of Ministers of BiH.
Tarik Sadvić, Minister of Security of BiH, says that the proposal of decision on forming the team of experts was not agreed in the Council of Ministers of BiH.
"The proposal of decision was written by the chairman Nikola Špirić and delivered to the European Commission. His proposal does not stipulate the adoption of laws on the office for combat against the corruption, but forming the team of experts", Sadović has said.
The European Commission asks BiH for forming the institution at the state level for combat against corruption. This demand is old for more than a year and has been inserted as the short-term priority in the European Partnership and the guidelines for liberalization of visa regime in BiH.
The Deputy Minister of Security, Mijo Krešić has explained that BiH has obligated itself by the adoption of the Strategy for combat against organized crime and corruption to establish the state institution for combat against corruption. By now, this has not been done because of the inability of agreeing on the competencies of that institution.
