Nezavisne novine: The deadline for nominating the candidate for director of the Directorate for European Integrations of BiH expires today, but the parliamentary majorities still have not reached the agreement which nation will this function belong to.
Bakir Izetbegović, chairman of the Socio-Democratic Action, has said that there were no inter-party conversations on the chief of the Directorate.
"There is a huge de-balance on burden of Bosniaks at leading positions in all state institutions. Therefore, it would be logical that this function belongs to Bosniaks. There is still no agreement on it because, I assume, it is being waited on the Civil Service Agency of BiH to make a list of the best candidates", Izetbegović has said.
Mijo Krešić, member of the Presidency of the Croatian Democratic Coalition of BiH, also says that there is no inter-party agreement on this nomination. "It would be realistic that a Croat becomes nominated as director of the Directorate for European Integrations of BiH, because the Croatian staff in the Directorate has been in deficit", Krešić has said.
The comment of the chairman of the Council of Ministers of BiH, Nikola Špirić or a comment from his office, we were not able to reach yesterday.
Zlatko Akšamija, assistant director of the Civil Service Agency of BiH, was not able to precise yesterday how many nominations have arrived.
"The contest will be closed on February 24th, but we must wait several days. Nominations which are sent by recommended mail on Tuesday, will also be taken into consideration. At the end of this or at the beginning of next week we will know the exact number of them", Akšamija has said.
The Directorate for European Integrations is from the beginning of this year being coordinated by Nikola Špirić, after the leave of Osman Topčagić.
