There is a big number of unemployed in BiH, who do not have the possibility, nor are they interested to educate themselves additionally and attain the new qualifications in order to get employed, has been said today by the post-manager in the European Commission Delegation in BiH, Jadranka Mihić.
Today, at the beginning of the two-day workshop “Obrazovanje za odrasle – od ključnog značaja za BiH” (Education for adults – of a key significance for BiH), she has said that BiH still does not have the framework law which would regulate the issue of education of adults, nor is there a strategy which would set the directions, priorities and preferences in this field.
“I think that the study, which is being led by the European training foundation /VET/, could assist us to form the structures, institutions and strategies, which would be important for this field”, Mihiće has said.
She has pointed out that BiH, in which there has not been done a lot in the area of the adult education, is joining the directions and priorities identified by the EU, so the adult education is now being understood as a concept of the whole life learning process, which is one of the priorities of the EU.
The European training foundation, as the agency of the EU, is dealing with the education and training, and policy of hiring and social inclusion.
The representative of the European training foundation, Meri Lorenčić has said that BiH, as the potential candidate for associating with the EU, must initiate the question of contributing in human resources.
“In the close cooperation with the Institutions of BiH, the Ministry of civil affairs and ministries of education at the level of entities and cantons, and the European Commission Delegation in BiH we have identified the area of education which has not been systematically encompassed by the process of reform, and that is education of adults”, Lorenčić has said.
She has said that by initiating the activities among which is also the transfer of knowledge and experience from countries of the EU to BiH, they want to prove to the authorized institutions “that the policy of education and policy of hiring are actually the one”.
The EU has set the task that by 2010., 12.5% of population of the age between 25 and 64 should participate in program of education and training. At the two-day conference, which is being held in Sarajevo, it will be talked on how and when will BiH reach that goal, reports portal capital.ba.
