Oslobođenje: The Minister of Communications and Traffic of BiH, Božo Ljubić and director of the Regulatory Agency for Communications (RAK), Kemal Huseinović, have presented today in Sarajevo the Draft Strategy of Transition from Analogical to Digital land radio-diffusion in BiH. According to the Minister Ljubić, the international obligation of BiH by the Agreement from Geneva is an introduction of the digital radio-diffusion by June 17th, 2015. Meanwhile, since all the members of the EU have obligated themselves to totally turn of the analogical radio-diffusion by the end of 2011., that year is a target year for BiH as well for the introduction of digital radio-diffusion. This strategy is related only to TV, but not for radio diffusion which can continue to work by an analogical system.
Ljubić says that there are many advantages of the introduction of digital radio-diffusion for the BiH society. This will bring to more qualitative and a bigger number of services, and better effectiveness of a frequent specter (up to ten programs on one frequency). The Minister has then mentioned opening of the new trading possibilities, promotion of new technologies, and a media plurality because of which many restrictions which also have political connotations will become irrelevant. The final users will have a better quality of picture and tone and an interactive television.
The director of the RAK, Kemal Huseinović has said that the introduction of digital radio-diffusion represents a big chance for BiH. He thinks that we have young and educated people, who will get a chance for new work positions, so they can build their future in BiH.
By presenting the goals of this strategy, the secretary of the DTT forum, Emir Vajzović has said that it also represents the subvention of citizens by buying an adequate receiver, and their informing in order for them not to buy wrong equipment. Namely, citizens who do not have an adequate TV receiver, will have to either buy a new one, or find the one for decoding. Vajzović has said that a price of these receivers is in a drastic droop, from 300 Euros to 20 to 30 Euros.
