Dnevni avaz: Complaints about the budget of the FBiH and careless relation to the cantons with the Croatian majority have been repeated. While we are getting closer to the local election, these complaints are getting more and more attention, and they were also a reason for making a special analysis of revenues and expenditures in the each canton.
Projects and investments:
The document in possession by Dnevni avaz, about which the Government of the FBiH will soon be informed, reveals shocking facts about financial flows inside the Federation. As much as 36% of all revenues which come to the budget of the FBiH, are being financed from the canton Sarajevo, in which through different projects, transfers, and other kinds of investments from federal budget, returns only 9% of money. Besides the canton Sarajevo, main financiers of the BiH budget are canton Tuzla with 16%, and canton Zeničko – Dobojski with 13% of the total paid money for the Federation, by which only 10% and 11% of money is being returned.
There is a totally different picture in the parts of BiH, which constantly besides mathematical diagrams, claim that they are unjustly abandoned, when speaking of money sharing from the budget of the FBiH. The most radical example is the Hercegovačko – Neretvanski canton, for which only 20% of money from the Federation’s budget is been assigned, although this canton participates with 8% in revenues. Usually, the most of federal expenditures are connected right to this canton. Last year, the Livanjski canton, Zapadno – Hercegovački and Srednjobosanski canton received more than 32 million KM.
Total transfers
If we separate the Posavski and Bosanskopodrinjski canton, as the regions of special interest, there is much more money received from the budget of the FBiH than transferred into it by the Livanjski canton.
