Dnevni avaz: Great number of civil servants will go on strike in mid September, since that is the only remaining legal way for employees of state institutions of BiH to express their dissatisfaction over previously adopted Law on salaries of civil servants.
This has been said on the press conference by Neđo Đurđić, president of Representative Union of BiH state institutions’ employees which gathers unions of 60 state institutions. He also added that it is not possible to determine precisely how many employees and from which institutions will be a part of this protest. He noted that at least 6.000 from the total of 22.000 state’s employees support this protest because of the unjust Law.
The Union demands that the employees in BiH institutions are put at least in the same position with employees of the entity institutions, which is not a case right now. This means that according to the Law, heads of departments of BiH institutions will have 281 KM less than a heads of the RS departments. Expert advisor in the BiH institutions will have 340 KM less than his/her colleague in the RS.
Policeman on the state level will have 71 KM less than his colleague from the Federation of BiH. When speaking of a rank of senior policeman, he will on the state level have 271 KM less than his colleague from the Federation of BiH, 31 KM less than a senior policeman in the RS. An inspector on state level will have 706 KM less than his colleague in the Federation of BiH.
At the end, in the Union they raise the question whether the goal of the new Law on salaries of civil servants is to drive away all quality staff, and that way weaken the BiH institutions.
