Dnevni avaz: The Head of the European Commission Delegation in BiH, Dimitris Kourkulas said that it is expected that BiH will sign on June 16 the Stabilization and Association Agreement, and that good results in its realization will be a reference point to award BiH the status of the candidate country for membership in the EU, reported Srna.
Kourkulas, at the Donor Coordination Forum in Sarajevo, pointed out that "financial support should be in accordance with the state strategies of development and that it will be managed by BiH once the appropriate institutions are established", was the release from the European Commission.
In the name of the Directorate for European Integrations of BiH, Darija Ramljak expressed the “readiness to take over obligations from the Agreement” and she especially pointed out the area of taxation, customs and fees where first measures are to be realized, which the authorities of BiH should solve by July 1st.
Head of Operations of the European Commission Delegation in BiH, Andre Lys informed the participants on the EU Instrument of Pre-Accession Assistance (IPA) through which already 440 million Euros for BiH was foreseen in the period from 2007 to 2011.
