Nezavisne novine: BANJALUKA – Council for Traffic Safety of the RS, which was yesterday established in Banja Luka, will deal with increase of technical soundness of vehicles, design of the database and rehabilitation of hazardous matters.
This was yesterday confirmed after constitutive session of the Council, in which Nedeljko Čubrilović, Minister of Traffic and Communication of the RS, was appointed chairman, and Drago Talijan, from the Banja Luka Centre for Motor Vehicles, the vice chairman. The other members of the Council are representatives of department ministries and institutions dealing with traffic.
Čubrilović said that the Council, as needed, will form commissions which will work on concrete problems and questions which are of the interest for safety of the citizens of the RS.
“Traffic safety in the RS is no worse than in the surrounding. We cannot be satisfied above everything else because of the participants in the traffic. It is known that the most prevalent causes of accidents are unadjusted speed and behavior of participants in the traffic”, Čubrilović pointed out.
He said that it has been ordered to place physical obstacles on the road Banja Luka – Klašnice, because of frequent speeding on this part of the road and because of the fact that in one place in the last year in traffic accidents six people died.
