Dnevni avaz: The MPs of the House of Representatives of BiH at today’s session in Sarajevo will declare on the principles of disputed Law on Salaries and Remunerations in Institutions of BiH. During discussion on this proposal last week, there were numerous objections, primarily on the salaries of the MPs, ministers and the members of the Presidency, which would, according to some calculations, amount to as much as 5000 KM, while on the same occasion was pointed out that the salaries of the SIPA, the Border Police of BiH and the employees in the customs are very low.
Adoption of conclusions
From the SDA they already announced that they will submit amendments. In this party they think that this area has to be legally set, but they also represent a standpoint that because of overall climate enormous salaries stipulated for MPs, ministers, etc. have to be lowered.
"We will support the principles of the Law, but we will request that conclusion which will remedy it is adopted. So, we will not support these quotients and we request that new ones are formed" said the head of the SDA Caucus, Bakir Izetbegović.
Azra Hadžiahmetović, the head of the Party for BiH Caucus, also announces that this party will support the Law in first reading.
"But, amendment phase will certainly, among other things, from our party as well, imply corrections of quotients for salaries. I pointed out the salaries of deminers and it is unacceptable that sq metre of demining is several times cheaper than cleaning of sq metre of carpet. We cannot allow that" stressed Hadžiahmetović.
Slavko Jovičić from the SNSD also announces support to this Law, deeming it necessary, because until now in that area was diversity, so directors of agencies, administrations and other institutions used to make rulebooks them selves and “take as much as they wanted”, and there was no control over that.
Tax payers
"Those were enormous robberies of tax payers and the budget of BiH. That is why we are in favour of this law which sets salaries of around 23 thousand employees in state bodies. But, in the amendment phase we will try to adjust salaries of members of the Presidency and the Council of Ministers and the MPs to economic and social situation in which BiH is. That means that if the MPs have 4500 KM, than police officers have to have 2000, and not that our salaries are 6.000, and they stay at 800 KM" said Jovičić.
Take from ministers and give to police officers and soldiers
Deputy Minister of Finances of BiH, Fuad Kasumović said that the Ministry received the proposal of the SDA.
"We will take amendments into consideration, and the SDA proposes to acquire assets for increase of salaries in the Border Police of BiH, SIPA and the army by decreasing certain incomes of certain categories of MPs and bearers of executive and legislative authority" said Kasumović.
