Nezavisne novine: SARAJEVO – The State of BiH will have the property needed for the state institutions to function normally, and the BiH property abroad, while the rest will belong to entities. This was confirmed yesterday by Zvonimir Kutleša, the chairman of the Commission for state property of BiH.
“We found compromise solution between demands that all the property should belong to the state, and that entities should own the entire property, and then give the part to the state to be used. We decided that after inventorying the entire state property, the state is to take what is needed for its institutions to function normally. The rest is to belong to entities”, Kutleša pointed out. The Commission for state property in the next three months should propose the Law on Division of State Property. Kutleša clarifies that before division, the entire property will be inventoried.
After the special commission finishes inventorying of the property at home and abroad, there will be a process of division. “Then the Council of Ministers should take the property needed for the state institutions, which includes the Border Police, the State Investigation and Protection Agency, and all other offices, agencies and services. The rest of the property will be divided among entities. Every entity will have property which is in its territory. Entities will have a possibility to transfer the property given to them to lower levels of authority, i.e. cantons, cities or municipalities”, clarified Kutleša.
According to the present draft law on state property, the state will also have all the property which is outside of borders of BiH. Kutleša says that all the diplomatic representations which BiH received through succession of the property of the former SFRY will be a state property. Besides embassies and consulates, the state will also be the owner of resorts, apartments, houses and offices.
