The Public administration reform coordinator’s office (PARCO), together with the SIGMA (Support for Improvement in Governance and Management in Central and Eastern European Countries), which offers an active support to the public administration reform in Bosnia and Herzegovina, on June 8 and 9, this year, in the building of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH, organizes the workshop “Harmonized administrative procedure in BiH – citizens and business sector require legal security and effectiveness”.
Goal of this workshop is to introduce the representatives of executive and legislative government to the best European practices in the area of administrative decision-making.
Nevenka Savić, National Coordinator for Public Administration Reform, will speak on the activities of the PARCO in the area of general administrative procedure, while the experts from SIGMA, Wolfgang Rusch, professor dr. Ulrich Karpen and professor dr. Zarije Seizović, will speak on the unified system of general administrative procedures in the federal state, based on an example of the Federal Republic of Germany, legal principles of administrative procedures in the European administrative space and the reform of the existing administrative legislation – needs of citizens and expectations in BiH.
Reform of the administrative decision-making is a primary condition for ensuring the efficacy, effectiveness and predictability of public administration in providing public services to the society. Reform will strengthen administrative decision-making as a key component of interaction between administration and citizens, and it will make itself into a functional, reliable, efficient, transparent and accountable instrument of one modern public administration directed towards citizens which it serves, better skilled for joining the European administrative space.
