The students of the Faculty for public administration in Sarajevo and the Faculty for Economy in East Sarajevo have on Friday (May 22, 2009) visited the Public Administration Reform Coordinator’s Office.
Nevenka Savić, National Coordinator for public administration reform has talked on obligations of the Coordinator’s office, implementation of measures from the Action plan 1 of the Strategy of the public administration reform, and on benefits, which will BiH citizens receive once the reform measures get fulfilled.
Ms Savić has pointed out that the reformed public administration is one of the priorities of the EU. Students have been informed that besides the Coordinator’s office at the level of BiH, there are also offices at entity levels and the level of the Brčko District, which are in a direct contact with all governments and are responsible for the reform process.
On the “reform implementation frame”, and the cooperation with donors and coordination it has been talked by the Expert Adviser for public administration reform in the area of Human Resources Management, Aleksandar Karišik and Aneta Raić, Chief of the Unit for donor coordination, finances, monitoring and evaluation.
Students have asked a big number of interesting and practical questions. They have been interested when the administration in BiH will be reformed, if it is the process which lasts for years, how much money has been given by donors for the Public Administration Reform Fund, and what the goal of the projects financed from the Fund is.
Ms Savić, Mss Raić and Sir Karišik have answered these questions and then explained to the students the activities of the Coordinator’s office and the public administration reform process in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
This has been a return-visit to our Office, after the advisers for public administration reform from the areas of Institutional communication and Public finances have in March and April this year held the lectures (at these faculties) on reforms in mentioned areas.
