Public Administration Reform Coordinator Darko Kasap participated in the Western Balkans High-Level Political Dialogue (HLDP), held in Skopje on November 26-27, which was attended by ministers responsible for public administration reform in the region.
This annual regional event, led by the Regional School of Public Administration (ReSPA), aims to strengthen political support and leadership for the implementation of the Public Administration Reform Programme (PAR) in the Western Balkans.
Mr. Kasap participated in a panel that covered key challenges and priorities in public administration reform in the Western Balkans, potential areas of assistance through a regional approach: current projects in the field of public administration reform, EU integration and institution building, with a special focus on Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The Development Partners Coordination Meeting provided an opportunity to exchange experiences and resources in the areas of public administration, institution building and EU accession. Development partners had the opportunity to present ongoing projects and future plans, while Western Balkan administrations outlined their needs for support in these key areas.
The main objective of this event was to identify potential synergies among the participants, as well as to shape new regional initiatives that will enable a more efficient response to the needs of the region. In addition, the exchange of ideas and strategies was intended to help further strengthen reform processes and improve the quality of public services, with a particular emphasis on policy planning, human resources, service quality management and EU integration.
This event was also an opportunity to strengthen cooperation between regional organizations and development partners, thus creating a stronger foundation for future support for reforms in the region. The conclusions of this meeting will be presented at the HLPD Ministerial Session, which will further shape the guidelines for future policy development in the Western Balkans.
In addition to Mr. Kasap, the Western Balkans High-Level Political Dialogue was attended by the PAR Coordinator of the Government of the Federation of BiH, Mr. Željko Šakrica, as well as the PAR Coordinator of the Government of the Republika Srpska, Mr. Aleksandar Šuvak.
