What are the implications of the Internal Market of the European Union, and how far has Bosnia and Herzegovina progressed in adapting its legislation to Internal Market requirements? What are the hurdles in this process and how can they best be overcome? These are the questions that will be addressed by EU representatives and members of State and Entity Parliaments, as well as of the Assembly of Brčko District, during the fifth session of the “Parliament for Europe” on Jahorina Mountain tomorrow.
The Internal Market in the context of the EU’s four freedoms will be the focus of discussions between former Italian Prime Minister and Chairman of the International Commission on the Balkans Giuliano Amato. The Head of European Commission Delegation Dimitris Kourkoulas will stress the need to create a single economic space as a factor for advancement towards EU accession. The Hungarian Ambassador to Croatia Peter Györkös will share the experience of his country in the EU accession process, while the Head of the European Commission Liaison Office to Kosovo Renzo Daviddi will speak about the actual process of creating a single economic space and the role of the banking sector.
The priorities and commitments of Bosnia and Herzegovina in creating a single economic space will be the focus of a presentation by Maja Rimac Bjelobrk from the Directorate for European Integration. The Vice-Governor of the BiH Central Fariha Imamović will speak about the banking sector in the context of European integration.
The objective of the “Parliament for Europe” is to inform key actors in the EU integration process about the requirements and standards of the European Union, and incite them to push for the necessary reforms in their parliaments.
