The Public Administration Reform Coordinator’s Office and the PAR coordinators of the Government of the Federation of BiH, the Government of Republika Srpska and the Government of the Brčko District of BiH, together with SIGMA, are developing a Roadmap for strengthening political support for the public administration reform process in BiH. A series of meetings with the political cabinets of ministers and heads of key public administration reform institutions are planned for April 2025.
The first of the meetings was held on April 2, 2025 in Banja Luka, and the meeting was attended by representatives of the Public Administration Reform Coordinator’s Office, the Ministry of Administration and Local Self-Government of the RS, the Ministry of European Integration and International Cooperation of the RS, the Ministry of Finance of the RS, the Ministry of Economy and Entrepreneurship of the RS, the General Secretariat of the Government of the Republika Srpska, the Republic Secretariat for Legislation, the Agency for Information and Communication Technologies of the RS, the EU Delegation to BiH and SIGMA.
The outcome of the meetings will be a draft proposal (roadmap) for strengthening political support and ownership of the public administration reform process in BiH. The idea is to identify practical steps to strengthen the political momentum in setting priorities and implementing public administration reform. The roadmap will be presented and discussed with the Chairperson of the Council of Ministers of BiH, the Prime Ministers of the Federation of BiH and Republika Srpska, the Mayor of the Brčko District and the EU Delegation to BiH.
This will be followed by meetings with key cabinets in Brčko, and institutions at the level of the Council of Ministers of BiH and the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Political leadership in public administration reform can significantly contribute to setting priorities, achieving results, emphasizing the importance of public administration reform and its promotion.
