Dnevni avaz: From the next Saturday until July 6, citizens will be able to submit the request for issuing of passport. Also, next Tuesday until June 30, at 04:00 pm will be canceled the reception of requests for issuing of personal identification cards, driver licenses and registration of vehicles, which will also last until July 6, has been confirmed yesterday in the Identification Documents, Data Exchange and Evidence Agency (IDDEEA) of BiH. Overtaking of already issued documents will be possible from 1st to 6th of July.
The reason of canceling is the beginning of application of new system for issuing of biometric passports, or the system for the ID evidence, evidence of residence and driver licenses.
The system will be tested in the next six months, so that the whole procedure will be implemented as it is about the biometric one, but the passports such we have today, will still be in the process of issuing.
If everything goes according to the plan, the first BiH passport with biometric chip on the back of the passport booklet will be issued on December 31, by which we will fulfill one of the key conditions of Brussels for abolishing the visa regime.
The experts claim that then we will have the most modern and perhaps the most secure system of issuing of documents, because theoretically it is not possible to come to the passport through the fake birth certificate or confirmation on citizenship. We will see if this system is going to work well.
