Dnevni list: The process of introducing the regime without visas goes slower than predicted because of many conditions which our country must do in order to come to the total abolishment of visas, has been stated by Mijo Krešić, Deputy Minister of Security of BiH.

By signing the Stabilization and Association Agreement, our country has received a clear map of the path towards the regime without visas in which the measures which must be done by BiH have been defined.

“The first report on progress of our country when speaking of the regime without visas, has been delivered to the European Union, and on the basis of the report, basic estimations and instructions for further work, will be done”, Krešić has said.

He says how the basic demands of the EU towards our country are to improve the status of human freedoms and rights, to fight more effectively against the organized crime, introduction of biometric passports and reduction of the high rate of corruption.

“All these things are bad and must be corrected if we want to come to the regime without visas. In this process we all must include ourselves in order to fight more effectively against these negativities of our society”, has been said by Krešić. He added how a good will and a correct approach exist, but we will need time for all this.

Because of all the stated, Krešić did not want to let himself in any kind of the forecast on when could a regime without visas be introduced for BiH.

Even though certain announcements on how the regime without visas can start in 2011 have existed earlier, Krešić says that there is still a very long and tough path before our country, and that all the politicians in BiH should, despite all the differences, unify and work in the interest of BiH so we could come to the final goal.
