Project number: 04-07-2-122-1/16
Project name: “Upgrade of the Unified Information System for business registration in the Republic of Srpska through procurement of necessary HW infrastructure (back up servers)”
Brief Description:  General objective

The overall objective is to increase competitiveness, transparency and efficiency of the economy of the Republic of Srpska and stimulate economic operators by using the latest information-communication solutions in the provision of services in public administration.

Purpose of the Project

The purpose of the project is to expand the capacity of the Unified Information System for Business Registration in the Republic of Srpska (JISRPS)by procuring a backup hardware, which would ensure a permanent availability and a possibility of system data recovery in the event of termination on the JISRPS, as well as protection against the loss of critical data from the JISRPS.

Brief Description

Building a Single information system for business registration in the Republic of Srpska established a unique register of all business entities (both legal and natural persons) in one place, thus enabling monitoring of the whole company life cycle. JISRPS enabled the exchange of documents and information between the institutions participating in the registration process and change of the status of businesses, as well as storage of historical data on businesses.

A large amount of data generated in the JISRPS needs to be stored in the appropriate infrastructure, and the adequate infrastructure also needs to be provided for storing the copies of that data in case of failure of parts of equipment, or system or application software. Considering the importance of data being generated in JISRPS, it is necessary to upgrade the hardware infrastructure of the JISRPS in the segment related to preservation (backup) of data, in the following manner:

1.            Upgrade the data centre server infrastructure with two backup servers

2.            Install backup software on the servers and integrate this software and the database, the application and other servers whose backup is stipulated

3.            Harmonise the database and other data backup policy with hardware expansion and the amount of data, their change dynamics and the importance. Backup policy defines the databases and other data to be backed up and how intensively, the backup schedules of individual databases, types of backup (full, incremental, differential), where the backup is done, the time of backup validity after which a new backup is done, and storage of media at the designated places, data and database restoration.
