A training ‘’Introduction to Quality Management’’ was held on 18 and 19 October 2017, on Jahorina, in the organization of GIZ, the BiH Civil Service Agency, and the Public Administration Reform Coordinator’s Office (PARCO) within the Programme for Strengthening of Public Institutions in BiH.

The aim of the training was to inform and familiarize the management as decision-makers about the benefits of systematic use of quality management systems such as ISO 9001 or CAF – Common Assessment Framework. In addition, the training aimed to increase employees’ motivation and to inspire their openness towards the users, in line with the SIGMA principles and the public administration reform in BiH. After the completion of the two-day training, the trainees understood the key principles, concepts and manners of implementation of quality management in the public administration.

Furthermore, basic knowledge about the instruments and a comprehensive context of quality management for a continuous improvement and efficiency of public administration has been acquired. The attendees were informed about the decisions adopted by the BiH Council of Ministers, the contact points for providing support to the implementation of the quality management system and the related mandatory instruments for measuring the efficiency of public administration work, such as Financial Management and Control, as well as risk management and data security.

The training was held by certified CAF trainers, namely, Kenan Avdagić and Saša Sihrovski from the Public Administration Reform Coordinator’s Office, Azra Kost and Ana Jerkić from the BiH Agency for Civil Service, and Tihana Puzić from GIZ.
