School desks of Adna Čolpa, Miran Pezer, Irem Karišik,  Selma Užičanin, Amina Fatkić, Azra Mahmutović and Zana Muminović, fourth grade students from the  First High School Sarajevo were replaced by one day work in the Public Administration Reform Coordinator’s Office, which supported the project “Volunteer-Credit 2010” organized by non-government organisation Infohouse.

Semiha Borovac, Public Administration Reform National Coordinator familiarized students not only with the role of PARCO, but also with reform itself.  

"This is the reform of all reforms. Public administration reform is not only primarly citizen’c request, but also is caused by the regional context as one of the crucial social priorities", she added.

"The liberalization of visa regime for Western Balkan countries represents and excellent illustration", mentioned Semiha Borovac. She added that the process of EU accession require the efficient public administration that operates in accordance with European administrative standards.

Boravac pointed out that reform, beside others, includes the development of policies at the institutional level,  transparent budget spendings at the state, entities level and Brcko District level, open and transparent public administration, application of modern infomation technologies and educate staff who are able to respond to the citizens and EU requirements.

Public administration reform success is primarly determined by the political will, invested funds and the knowledge and skills reform acters.

After conversation with the coordinator, students took the participation in the workshop in order to practice how to sucesfully negotiate. The workshop aim was to improve their negotiators skills.

Additionally, students visited and Public Relations Department of the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers. Azra Aličković, head of Department for media and analytics and Aleksandar Obradovic, Head of the Department for cooperation with citizens and journalist informed students about the Council of Minister activities. Students are also visited the conference hall and hall for press conferences.

The average age of employees of the PARCO broke the myth that public administration is unattainable for young professionals, is unique student’s attitude.

"I was pleasantly surprised to find out that the civil servants work is evaluated and job in public administration does not represent job untill the end of career”, said Zana Muminović.
