Citizens of Great Britain have had a chance to put on the website of their government their ideas on how their country can be economic, and the suggestions were different – from selling the Queen’s swans and abolishing monarchy to leaving delegates without salary. Great Britain, whose budget deficit has been increased to even 903 billion pounds or around 1098 billion Euros, is trying to reduce expenditures. With hope that the fresh ideas will help, the Cabinet of the Minister of Finance has on the government website put a question for the citizens – in what way can country save, and 45 thousands of British have sent their answers.

Minister of Finance, George Osborne, plans to annually save around 36.5 billion Euros, in order to reduce in the next five years a huge national debt of Great Britain. The Government has announced savings already. However, citizens have had totally different ideas on savings. The government website has shown some ideas on abolishing monarchy. Also, drastic reduction of number of members of the King’s family, which is being supported by tax payers, has been suggested. One British has suggested Britain to reach the agreement with one of the ally countries on joint usage of expensive and luxury embassies abroad, while many of the website visitors have asked for a reduction of development assistance for poor countries. British citizens also suggest abolishment of salaries for delegates, as well as abolishment of travel agents as mediators in reserving hotel accommodations for civil servants.

Among suggestions there is also a plan that around 100000 prisoners, which is a number of them in British prisons, gets forced to work something useful for society, has been published on the portal reci.ba.
