Oslobođenje: The Tax Authority of BiH in all cantons of this entity organizes seminars for economists, in order to educate them on application of the new legal solutions from the area of tax policy. According to the director of the Tax Authority, Midhat Arifović, they try to assist the economists to prepare themselves better for application of complex legal solutions as are the Law on Income Tax, the Law on Contributions, and technical preparation for issuing of tax cards.

While speaking of the tax cards, Arifović has pointed out that by trying to modernize and ease the business to economists, the Tax Authority has enabled electronic sending of the requests for issuing of tax cards, but this only relates to the companies which have more than 10 employees. "From July 1st, we will begin receiving requests in order to start issuing of tax cards from September 1st", Arifović has said.

He has said that the seminar organized by the Tax Authority is at the same time a chance for the tax payers and employers to learn; what are the tax obligations they need to pay for, in what way they need to do it, who will need to pay for those, on which basis and in what amount.

However, according to him, the Tax Authority is expected to do the biggest part of this job; it is the application of income tax by the applications of tax payers, where it is expected that by February next year, when the deadline for the budget is, a big number of tax payers, who have some easements, will contact the Tax Authority.

"It will be hard to harmonize all of it because we will probably do the return of tax to the tax payers, who have the easements, especially in the cases where it is about the small amounts, which are not significant for us, but for the tax payers they are big", Arifović has said.

He has added that the additional problem is in the fact that the Law on Income Tax is not a clearly précised way of returning the funds, however, this problem should be solved soon because the Ministry of Finance of the FBiH works on preparation of the bylaw act, which will solve this problem.
