Dnevni avaz: Bosnia and Herzegovina has by now fulfilled 20 percent of tasks contained in the list of obligations which the European Union has set as a condition for abolishment of visa regime for the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina. This has been said for “Dnevni avaz” by Samir Rizvo, chairman of Inter-Ministries Working Group which cooperates with the European Union.

By September 1st, our team is responsible to deliver the first report on improvement to Brussels. Report will contain the information on the current improvement process and fulfilling stated conditions and plans for the upcoming period.

Limited results

Report on finished phase will be on time delivered to the European Union. This will be a complex material, in which will be more than 120 reports related to many fields about the implementation of assured steps – Rizvo has said.

Two areas will be the main barriers for including Bosnia and Herzegovina into the EU. It is hard for us to ensure an efficient coordination of work in Department for Law Implementation. No solution was found even in the negotiations about police reform. Second question is obligation of initiating the system of efficient data exchange among the Departments for Law Implementation. Those are the areas in which we practically do not have any, or have very limited results – Rizvo has noted.

Biometric passports

In all other areas stated in the map of obligations, Bosnia and Herzegovina can be proud of very good results and improvement. In the area of coordinating migrations we almost fulfill all demands. In the area of biometric passports we already took concrete steps in order to start the change. It is only a matter of time if it is going to be one month earlier, or one month later – Rizvo said.

He is sure that our country can do the majority of tasks by the end of this year, but the more concrete predictions will be possible in mid September. By then, the European Union will analyze what has been done already, and what else we need to do in order to cancel visas.
